Testimony.

Not long after Charlie Kirks assassination and all the negative responses towards his death, I knew that I needed to go and get reconnected with God. I was already in therapy for over 2 and a half years and I felt like I was still missing something. In the hateful responses from the Charlie Kirk shooting I saw demonic behavior and I knew it was time for me to go back to God.

There were a few candle light vigils and I went to the one in Wilsonville because I felt like it would be safer than the one in Portland. Before I left I decided to make a commitment to change my life around. I bought a bible and threw away my bongs. I had heard of the pioneer square candle light vigil but wasn’t sure if it was going to be safe. After looking it up on instagram and seeing it was safe I decided to go. I didn’t know what to except at the even and I was thinking it was just about remembering Charlie Kirk, but when I got there they were finishing up wrapping the event.

Chris Overstreet was on stage asking those people that wanted to give their life to Jesus up to the stage. I came up and committed myself to Jesus. They were also doing baptisms and right there I decided why not go all the way and get water baptized as well. After the event concluded I began coming to Kingdom Movement. This is my home church ever since then and now I serve on the greeting team and involved in life group.

Look & Feel.

To create an intimate and powerful testimony the story is primarily visualized through select scenes that will be captured as well as using any past photos relating to the story. In each of the scenes the camera remains locked meant to signify the strength of the testimony. The visual language of the film will use natural lighting and center framing. Capturing the abstract is important to help visualize the story with and without God & the change that’s been made, the same scenes with and without talent. Recording on location audio will be vital to create an ambient undertone.

HOME. THE INTERVIEW

This is where the interview takes place. Warm tones with the sun piercing through. A Two camera interview setup with middle framing and high angle offset with little framing in front of the face.

After the interview capture small details, back of the face, defocusing from talent to background, hands on the chair, little moments to cut into during the film.

Capture moments of Semaj reading alone. Drinking water in the kitchen. Some self-reflective type shots.
